SHOULDER REPLACEMENT
Uncommonly the shoulder can develop arthritis especially if the supporting muscles, the rotator cuff, have been torn.
A unique shoulder replacement is a Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement Here the ball and socket are swopped in position hence reverse. This allows increased post replacement shoulder function in a deficient rotator cuff muscle shoulder.

ROTATOR CUFF PATHOLOGY
They say grey hair = rotator cuff tear. Unfortunately a common cause of shoulder pain in the middle aged and elderly is a rotator cuff tear. Many times patients cannot recollect a traumatic event. Often these cuffs need repair. Dr Bond performs arthroscopic and open rotator cuff repairs.

SHOULDER DISLOCATIONS
This injury occurs often in active patinets. The youngerand the more active the patient, the greater chance the shoulder will redislocate.
For recurrent dislocation, a Bankart repair can be performed but for the moer active sportman a ALterjet procedure is performed. Here a boe block (coracoid) and a sling (attached biceps) is fixed on the anterior glenoid to block /prevernt dilocations
Operating time : 1 hour 30 min
